Topcrop Squirrel & Critter Mix has been specifically developed for feeding squirrels and other types of backyard wildlife.
Topcrop Squirrel Mix will attract a wide range of Backyard Wildlife, but will be most appealing to Squirrels, Chipmunks, and wild rabbits. Don't be surprised if you see a few wild birds, especially Blue Jays!
For best results, put Topcrop Squirrel/Critter Mix on a large, uncovered platform feeder that is situated 6"-12" (15-30cm) off the ground. These types of feeders are available commercially, or you can construct your own. An alternative to this method is to simply spread Topcrop Squirrel & Critter Mix directly on the ground, however this method is not as effective during the winter months in areas that receive snow.
Feeding squirrels can help reduce the incidence of squirrels attempting to gain access to your wild bird feeder. Squirrels have been known to cause major damage to wild bird feeders by chewing on them. Squirrels will feed most often where food is more easily accessed. By providing a food source alternative the squirrels will be less likely to disturb your other feeders, allowing wild birds and the squirrels to live in harmony in your backyard.
